variety of colours available at Anatomic Bomb, Madeline’s job is never dull. “It is great when a customer orders an unusual colour – the most commonly ordered colours are black and red. Working with happy colours like yellow, jade green, violet and pinks can be fun and have a therapeutic effect on the designer. Perhaps my favourite is light brown. I always have to rush out to the shops to buy chocolate milk when I am working with it because it is exactly the same colour.” Sketching ideas is the part of the creative process which Madeline finds the most fun. “ Constructing the garments is about pattern cutting, fittings and at times, error. Although,” she added, “it is very satisfying to see a ropey drawing turn into the finished result, especially when it is photographed on a beautiful model.” When asked about the best aspect of designing clothes Madeline said, “The best thing about designing clothes is getting positive feedback from fans and customers about how they have loved looking at our pictures or how they loved wearing our clothes and how great it made them feel. In short, I enjoy making people happy.” To hopeful latex designers Madeline advised:“Develop your own style and get some professional pictures taken before you put your product out there. Get your product out quickly and answer customer queries quickly.” Regarding the future, Madeline would like to expand her range. “We will be adding catsuits and more uniforms to our collection this year.” www.anatomicbomb.com
