The noise of the engines and speed gave me goose pimples as I watched with eyes fixed on the action. Martin Stretton took first place in his 1974 March 742 in 18 minutes and 41 seconds after 13 laps with Darwin Smith from Ballymena in Northern Ireland following second and Hans Peter from Switzerland taking third place.
