MUMBAI G rooving to the sounds of Boney M and Madonna, French Tuesdays’ Retro Chic Party in Mumbai welcomed the return of memorable 70 s, 80s and 90s music. The rainy Tuesday evening saw party goers battle the storm and come to South Mumbai to attend the event atWink Bar in Vivanta by Taj President . With its rustic walls, suspended bar, light effects and metal frameworks, this uber cool bar made a style statement right in tune with the FrenchTuesday’s Retro Chic party. Guests attending the event were dressed in a multitude of colours and had adorned themselves with colourful wigs and offbeat coloured glasses, all adding to the Retro Chic oomph! Martin Peter Menezes, the country manager, played host to perfection warmly greeting guests as they walked in. The party-goers included local Mumbai members with expats, movers and shakers and fashionistas. Elegantly dressed men and women sipped Cîroc cocktails and listened to excellent music from the past; it was a wonderful evening to interact with friends and other French Tuesdays members. The ever so efficient bar staff did a fantastic job of serving guests their drinks (Cîroc Skinny Cosmo, Cîroc Hot Mama, and Blue Manhattan) and re-fills flowed effortlessly throughout the evening. Sudhir Abbot was the lucky winner of the Audi Weekend Experience, courtesy of Audi Mumbai West. As the night wore on and the music got louder, DJ Ruskin brought out the best of the years that were and guests let loose and danced wishing they were on “ Holiday” in “Funky Town” with a “Material Girl”. The music reached its final beat, well past midnight, and we had to thank Abba for the Music (and of course DJ Ruskin) for a fantastic night that was.There’s nothing to cure the weekday blues than a night out with fantastic company, delicious cocktails and great music all hosted and executed to perfection by French Tuesdays.
