Bite Autumn 2012

Bernard Chandran was all about making a bold statement, as we saw a large influx of print and some of the most beautifully bejewelled dresses that we had seen all week. Careful craftsmanship and an exceptional eye for detailing brought this collection to life. Colour-wise, it was varied as we saw shimmering pinks diffuse into harsh blacks, while gold zebra printing was a captivating way to play up the print. Overall the collection is dazzling and red carpet worthy.

This season at Bora Aksu we saw strong powerful women become the designer’s main inspiration. One woman in particular, the Queen of Romania and Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, Marie Alexandra Victoria was the designer’s muse for this historically inspired collection. We saw intricate printed shift dresses in a pastel colour scheme fall out of the doors of the BFC (British Fashion Council), the printing showing delicate floral patterns that we have become so fond of from previous seasons. The headwear was intricate, and the final dresses were something to aspire to, within an extremely wearable and exceptionally beautiful collection.
